North Jamaica Conference
NJC EXECUTIVE SECRETARY TO BE BURIED MARCH 11TH
The late Pastor Omri Davis
Pastor Omri Davis, the vivacious, fun-loving and spiritually minded man of God, fell asleep in Christ on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the age of 53.
After an almost year-long battle with cancer, he breathed his last breath surrounded by family members and colleagues of the North Jamaica Conference. As the news broke across the field, it sent the entire Adventist Community into mourning, given Pastor Davis’ extensive network and pastoral experience in the West Jamaica and North Jamaica Conference.
Pastor Davis has served the Seventh-day Adventist Church in a number of capacities over his twenty two years in ministry in Jamaica and the Eastern Caribbean, including Colporteur, Pastor and Church administrator. From his days at University, he was engaged in the colporteur ministry, taking summers to spread Advent literature in the Cayman Islands and the Bahamas. He continued this lifelong passion to the very end.
Between January 2008 and June 2011 he served the East Caribbean Conference as Pastor, later returning to his homeland, Jamaica. At the time of his passing, he was the Executive Secretary of the North Jamaica Conference, with direct responsibility for Publishing Ministries as well.
Conference President, Pastor Karl Archer, who was among those at his bedside when he passed, himself has been deeply moved by the death. “His passing comes as a great, great loss to the conference and his contributions will be missed” said the President. “Given his hope in Christ, we are confident that we will meet him again”.
The Funeral Service for the life of the late Pastor Omri Davis will be on Sunday March 11, 2018 at the West Jamaica Conference Centre, St. James.
Pastor Davis is survived by his wife Charmaine and three sons of the marriage: Theodore, Timothy and Charis.
